Luis Gutierrez
The 2022 Nerin Terra feels creamy and sleek, perhaps more marked by the elevage in oak barrels. It was produced with a blend of 60% Garnacha, 35% Carinena and 5% other varieties from a single plot called Clos de l`Afaitador between the villages of El Molar and Bellmunt that is in the process to obtain organic certification. The varieties ripen at different moments and were fermented separately and by soil—they have three soil types there—destemmed and with indigenous yeasts, then matured in used 300- and 500-liter French oak barrels for 24 months. It`s not a shy wine, hitting the scale at 15% alcohol, with a pH of 3.5 and five grams of acidity. It`s medium- to full bodied, with balance and elegance. 3,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2025. 93 points
