Medium deep crimson. A fresh pinot nose, not too intense. A mid to dark raspberry fruit on the palate albeit with a certain crispness, a little wood at the back, but a complete and once again harmonious – my Lafarge word for the vintage – finish. Drink from 2030-2037. 91-93 points

The 2022 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru, which was the last cuvée to be racked, has a bright nose with dark cherries, raspberry and light sous-bois aromas that will knit together during the rest of its elevage. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins, perhaps just a tad unsettled post-racking. Still, there is impressive concentration, backbone, and firm grip on the finish with a sapid aftertaste. Cellar this for 4-5 years to smooth down its edges. 90-92 points

The 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots is pretty and fine-boned, offering up aromas of cherries, petals, orange zest and raw cocoa, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and lively palate. 90-92 points
