All from the Vaupulans sector. 40% wood. A pale lemon colour. The bouquet is quite gentle, in its cashmere style. Perhaps the oak enhances that though there is nothing obvious about it in the bouquet – slightly more detectable on the palate. The barrel helps to build the back end of the palate which can sometimes falls away in Fourchaume. Drink from 2026-2032. 90-93 points

The 2022 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru has a discrete nose that gradually reveals one of Droin’s more floral bouquets this year. The well-balanced palate has a slightly richer, nuttier opening and good depth, tensile with a subtle reduction on the persistent finish. Excellent. 92-94 points
