Heavy clay soils before you hit limestone here, and the wine delivers unusual levels of sappy, pummice stone, juicy austerity for the vintage. Almost a granite edge to the tannins, floral aromatic intensity, bring blue and red fruits, and subtle spices of dill, sage and saffran. Excellent quality and value. 35hl/h yield, 30% new oak. 94 points

The 2022 Chateau d`Aiguilhe has a relatively light bouquet with airy red fruit, orange pith and delicate undergrowth scents that emerge with time in the glass. The palate is sweet and tart on the entry, with fine tannins, moderate depth and a nicely balanced finish. This Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux should age nicely in bottle. 14.3% alcohol. 89-91 points
