Matt Walls
Fresh blueberry and blackberry, this has good volume in the mouth; the fruit is ripe, and the tannins are intense and quite strict, a touch on the dry side. Lots to enjoy here, and it should age with interest, though texturally it is a bit rough-and-ready. 70% destemmed, made using natural yeasts, and aged in recent but not new barrels. 92 points

full robe; the bouquet shows oak-nutshells, roasting, a considered depth, hasn’t revealed its hand yet, broods in the glass. The palate presents rather a punchy attack, bustling red fruits, has drive and impulse in the late stages, a wildness that provides energy. The finish is a touch exerted, the tannins rather chewy – toning them down is the challenge for it; time can harmonise that aspect. It could have been bottled later. 13°. 5,000 b. From 2025. 2040-42 3.5 stars
