Jane Anson
20ha property owned by Cuvelier family of Leoville Poyferre since 1920, here proving that this is a family collection of impressive wines. Lovely texture, bright fruit with clarity and cheerful sappy raspberry and cassis fruits. Harvest September 14 to 30, 35hl/h yield, 25% new oak. Winemaker Isabelle Davin, consultant Michel Rolland. 92 points

The 2020 Moulin Riche is quite backward on the nose, dark berry fruit, black tea and brown spices gradually unfurling with aeration. The palate is rounded on the entry, lightly spiced with white pepper and touches of fennel. This gains depth in the glass as it responds to aeration with just a little chewiness towards the finish that should soften with bottle age. 90 points

The 2020 Moulin Riche is fabulous. Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot notes are dialed up, giving the 2020 tons of dark fruit and savory character. Merlot adds a more suave dimension to balance out the blend. Deep, layered and wonderfully expressive, Moulin Riche is superb. There`s so much exuberance here, but also tempered by the freshness of the year. 92 points

Tasted blind. Dark greyish crimson. Ripe, dark and spicy fruit. Thickly textured, smooth tannins. Rounded but could do with a little more energy on the finish amid all that tannin. 16+ points
