The 2020 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spatlese (White Capsule) is pure, warm and intense yet fine and flinty on the remarkably ripe and concentrated, irresistible nose that exhibits fully ripe Physalis and mirabelle aromas with a hint of dried rosemary (even with focaccia). Pure, super refined and crystalline on the palate, this is a very intense, saline and savory Zeltinger Sonnenuhr with intense fruit and precise, linear and remarkably saline acidity. The finish is long, saline and savory and fascinatingly precise. The Wehlener Sonnenuhr dry Spatlese might be more spectacular right now, but this rather discreet Zeltinger should not be underestimated. 11% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 19 21 in July 2022. Drink 2028-2060. 94 points
