Jane Anson
Just delicious, this is one of the values on the vintage, bitter black chocolate that gives focus in the best way. Rich damson, supple tannins that have softened over ageing and now clearly feel more approachable than some of the bigger estates at this point, a sign that it will be ready to go a little earlier. Great stuff from winemaker and co-owner Benjamin Sichel. An upscore. 93 points

The 2020 Chateau Angludet is the product of a crop that suffered frost damage earlier in the season with a reduced percentage of Merlot. It has a lovely nose, maybe not quite as "brisk" as I described out of barrel, yet harmonious with those appealing black fruit laced with iris flower and violet. The palate is medium-bodied, the 30% aging in amphora imparting the spiciness, the liberal dose of black pepper towards the still gritty finish. Lovely length, lovely Margaux, lovely d`Angludet. 91 points

The 2020 Angludet is packed with dark fruit, chocolate, herbs and sweet French oak. Elevage has softened some of the burlier contours that were present en primeur. This forward, juicy Margaux looks like a near and mid-term proposition. 89 points
