Chenin Blanc
Fragrant peach, melon, mango and nectarine aromas, with a waxy lemon-zest complexity. The palate is beautifully poised, creamy, waxy, with fresh citrus-fruit flavours washing it clean on a bright, enlivening finish. An exceptional South African Chenin Blanc, sourced predominantly from the farm on the Paardeberg next door to Eben Sadie in the Swartland, with 27% coming from a second farm in the Polkedraai Hills, Stellenbosch. Blending grapes from two farms and three vineyards in the Swartland and Stellenbosch, this is a bready, leesy, worked style of Chenin Blanc with some grip from skin tannins, subtle oxygenation and a fresh, tangy, mineral-edged finish. Drink 2020-24. 91 points

The 2019 Trust Your Gut is aged in used French oak for 11 months. It has an attractive nose, muted at first but revealing attractive honeysuckle and peach skin notes with aeration. The palate is well balanced with fine definition and quite gras in style. Touches of dried quince and caffe latte emerge toward the finish. 90 points
