Neal Martin
The 2019 Gazin has a convincing, perfumed nose of beautifully defined red fruit, light estuarine aromas, touches of crushed stone and even a hint of fig. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit. There is very good depth and substance here, and veins of dark chocolate and allspice toward the finish. The only minor quibble is that it needs a little more finesse. But it is a superb Gazin and a great Pomerol. 95 points

For Gazin this is pretty creamy at this early stage, with blackberry and soft vanilla bean spice, impressively gourmet for an estate that is often one of the most austere and buttoned up Pomerols during En Primeur. The walls and floor of the tannins are still very much there, suggesting there is long life ahead. Thoroughly enjoyable. A yield of 44hl/ha. 93 points
