Jasper Morris MW
Another fine luxurious purple with an energetic nose. Actually, this Gevrey is quite discreet at first, but the wine is sensational on the palate, just on the cusp of red and black, enough of the classical savoury finish to prevent the ripeness getting out of hand. Beautifully managed and very persistent. 92-94 points

This too is notably ripe but fresh with a brooding nose of various wild dark berries, warm earth and pretty floral nuances. There is again excellent energy and tension to the intense, precise and muscular flavors that display outstanding complexity and sneaky good length. This offers unusually good quality for a Gevrey villages plus it is a wine that should amply repay up to a decade of cellaring. 90-92 points

Bursting with notes of peonies, berry fruit, orange rind and spices, the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, lively and elegantly structured, with a deep core of fruit, ripe tannins and a lively, seamless profile. 89-91+ points
