2018 Philippe Colin Chassagne Maltroie
Secondary Description
The two parcels of vineyard that make this cuvee produced 5 barrels, which is more than it sounds because the majority of casks used here are 450 litres nowadays. It`s another one with more of a stony face in front of the mandarine nose. It is a zesty wine with attack and persistence; it`s structured too, with a fine grip. Tight but approachable this will age well. (CW 5/11/19)

The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroie 1er Cru, aged in 30% new oak, has a strict, linear bouquet that translates its terroir with style. It feels a little muted at the moment but it should develop more intensity after bottling. The palate is fresh and saline on the entry. This is a Chassagne-Montrachet with commendable sapidity and impressive persistence, classic in style and one for aging. Superb. 91-93 points
