2018 Philippe Colin Chassagne Chenevottes

Secondary Description
The 2018 Philippe Colin Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chenevottes goes boom. We`re three quarters of the way throught his tasting where the wines have performed really well and we have yet another step up in - not quality exactly - but expression of personality, of penetration. This really is a wine for ageing, it`s reticent; it`s tight, but it has really zingy fruit, loads of matter and density and great acidity. It seems really focussed - detailed and precise. Neal Martin

The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru, matured in 30% new oak, has a more Meursault-inspired bouquet that develops hints of hazelnut and nutmeg in the glass. The palate is very harmonious and precise, that nuttiness more subtle in the mouth than on the nose, and it unveils more salinity on the long finish. Delicious... and classy. 92-94 points

Alistair Cooper MW

A ripe style for Chassagne, fleshy nose. The palate shows a nice chalky texture and a limey citrus acidity. Attractive and quite a long focused finish. 16.5 points
