2018 on Santorini was an excellent vintage as the island is more accustomed to what in the rest of Greece was an exceptionally dry and hot year. The Gaia Wild Ferment Assyrtiko is mineral and its luscious palate texture is kept well in check with beautifully harmonious acidity. Still one of the best white wine values in the shop. Terry Kandylis
100% Assyrtiko. A whiff of white nectarine with a gunflint minerality and hint of spice. Lemony freshness, grapefruit and hints of wild flowers. Bone dry, with more peach and white plum characters on the palate and a softness on the acidity. Fresh and moderately aromatic; a pleasing alternative to a grand cru Chablis. Drink 2020 - 2025. 93 points
