Jane Anson

Vibrant aromatics on the nose are joined by well focussed citrus pep. This is an attractive white, punching way above the vintage, with a lick and a kick and a sense of juicy relief. The rich body suggests generous alcohol but it`s held well. 92 points

Julia Harding

Slightly candied citrus on the nose, giving a sweet/sour effect on the palate, sweet fruit but slightly tart acid. Uncomfortable at the moment. 15 points

The de Fieuzal 2018 Blanc bursts from the glass with gregarious green mango, guava and fresh limes scents followed by green apples and pineapple plus a waft of honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, the palate is packed with topical and citrus layers, with a satiny texture and bold freshness, finishing savory. 92-94 points

A rather stolid character on the nose here, showing lightly baked apple and orchard fruits, all wrapped up in a little buttery oak, although there is an intriguing note of salty pear behind it. A rather broad, indeed rather fat palate follows, showing a volume bordering on corpulence, with a pithy phenolic substance, some proper weight, and plenty of bitter character, all wrapped up in oak. There is energy here, with a pithy, pine needle confidence from the Sauvignon. The acidity remains rather low-key throughout though, and the finish is certainly more about phenolic grip than it is the acid. 89-91 points
