Aldo Fiordelli
One of the most respected producers in Bramaterra, Antoniotti sources the Nebbiolo, Croatina, Vespolina and Uva Rara for its Bramaterra from Vigneto Martinazzi at 370 to 410 metres above sea level. The vines are 50 years old and the grapes are harvested in October, fermented in concrete tanks below the ground then aged for 30 months in large oak casks. Bright ruby in the glass, it`s austere and restrained at first but opens up to reveal blood orange allied to darker fruits, violet, and a lot of vibrant, smoky minerality. Dense and dusty on the palate with a lot of fruit concentration, it`s very tasty and briny, refreshing and perfectly woven in a powerful way. Slightly bitter on the finish, it`s otherwise a great wine for the long haul. 95 points
