The 2017 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru feels distant on the nose, quite stony and reserved, leaving you desiring more fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, quite masculine and correct, but you could also say rather stoic and resistant to articulating its terroir, at least at the moment. Let’s see how this plays out once in bottle. I will be cautious for now. 88-90 points
