2017 Giuseppe Mascarello Langhe Nebbiolo

This wine had been bottled just a few days prior to my tasting visit. The 2017 Langhe Nebbiolo opens to a light garnet color that reflects the heat of the vintage (the Nebbiolo grape tends to produce a pale color as those temperatures increase), but the wine`s appearance is due to darken and gain in color saturation as the wine spends a little more time in bottle. The bouquet is also poised to open with deeper layers of blueberry, spice and violets. 91 points
