There`s a touch of coffee oak on this 1er Cru Clos des Reas, but very juicy, `happy` fruit, it`s that kind of wine that makes you pleased to be alive, even at 10am on a January morning in a London basement. It has a lovely texture with finely woven tannins, plenty of balanced structure and good length. (CW 10/1/18)

The 2016 Vosne Romanee 1er Cru Clos des Reas has one of the most ebullient and vivacious bouquets from Michel Gros this year with red cherries, wild strawberries and a touch of blood orange in the mix. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannin, crisp acidity, plentiful tart red fruit with a fine structure that does not dominate toward the finish. Excellent. 90-92 points
Allen Meadows
Here the expressive nose is similar to that of the Brûlées though with a bit more wood in evidence and it can also be found on the round, velvety and very rich medium-bodied flavors that are less mineral-driven, all wrapped in a seductive, dusty and less structured finale. As is typically the case, this should be approachable on the younger side. 90-92 points

Cask sample. Light to mid crimson. Delicate yet somehow intense in its fruit fragrance. Firm but creamy tannin texture, deep and long and with freshness to the end. A hint of sour cranberry on the finish. Lovely. 17 points
