The 2016 Arlaud Roncevie was racked a week before we tasted it in preparation for bottling in December. It is soft and easy with a lovely texture, fine fruit and good balance. But wines at this level are all about the level of extraction and Cyprien has judged it brilliantly. Roncevie is a 10 hectare climat and Arlaud has half of it. The vines are 60 years old and as is well known it is in a Gevrey villages area. (CW 7/11/17)

The 2016 Bourgogne Roncevie is fully destemmed with five percent new oak. It has a fragrant bouquet with pure blueberry and raspberry fruit, quite vigorous considering that it had only been bottled the previous day. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy, ripe tannin, a fine line of acidity, a little sinewy toward the finish but there is decent length here. 85-87 points
