The 2015 La Clarte de Haut-Brion is a blend of 27% Sauvignon Bland and 73% Semillon picked between August 28 and September 8. Lime and dried pineapple furnish the nose that is uncomplicated, but fresh and charming, with hints of honeysuckle developing in the glass. The palate is fresh and edgy on the entry with lime, green apple and chalky notes, moderate weight in the mouth with just a slightly clipped finish. Enjoy this over the next decade. 87-89 points

The second wine of both La Mission and Haut-Brion, assembling the younger vines from both estates. 73% Semillon, 27% Sauvignon – the Sauvignon resisted less well to the August rains so is slightly less aromatic than usual, so there is a higher percentage in the first wines. It means that this is a mellow, fairly rich and serious Clarté; very attractive. 14.3%abv, 55% new oak. 89 points

Very sweet Sémillon nose - almost honey! A hint of cat - very mineral. The Sémillon is all on the nose at the moment and the palate seems dominated by Sauvignon character. Lots to chew on. 17.5 points
