Allen Meadows
An overtly ripe yet restrained nose is composed by notes of green fruit, mineral reduction and lemon zest. The mouth feel of the medium-bodied flavors is generous to the point of being lush and there is fine intensity plus the complex and lingering finish possesses a touch of austerity that does a nice job of buffering the mid-palate sweetness. 89-92 points
Stephen Tanzer
(from vines in Vaupulent; 13.3% alcohol; this wine began in 50% new oak, the highest percentage among Droin`s premier crus). Bright, pale yellow-green. Sexy nose combines lime, mint, white pepper and spicy oak. In a distinctly generous, velvety style; more about opulent fruit than minerality. Droin admits he picked these vines about three days later than he had originally planned, owing to the need to harvest the hailed-on parcels first. Finishes fat and a bit warm. 88-90 points
