The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Combe d`Orveau has clean and ripe red cherry and raspberry aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is a little tight on the entry and it does not quite "flow" at the moment, preferring to remain rigid, albeit with a tang of sweet, ripe red cherry mixed with marmalade on the finish. Afford this 2-3 years in bottle and hopefully it will muster a little more harmony. 89-91 points

(from vines that average more than 60 years of age). Here there is no reductive funk as the cool and pure nose offers up distinctly floral scents on the high-toned aromas of red cherry, pomegranate and violet scents. I very much like the intensity of the mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess excellent delineation and underlying tension, all wrapped in a clean, energetic and refined finale. Lovely. 89-92 points

Given its proximity to Musigny, it’s no surprise that this vineyard produces such stylish wines. This single parcel Pinot is pale an d aromatic, segueing into supple red berries, nutmeg spice and a chalky refreshing finish. Essence of Chambolle. Drink 2018-27. 94 points
