The 2014 Nuits St Georges Villages used to be the domaine bottling until Jean-Nicolas decided to commence uprooting the parcel and felt he needed to augment the remaining vines with other fruit, which he confessed he has found difficult. The nose is perfumed and floral, nicely defined with a touch of undergrowth coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry tannin, strict and linear, and perhaps needing some more length on the finish. This is a pretty Village Cru that will drink nicely over 5-6 years. 85-87 points

(from a .6 ha parcel in Au Bas de Combes). A discreet application of wood sets off pungently earthy dark berry fruit aromas where additional breadth is present in the form of spice and subtle animale nuances. There is both good energy and delineation to the solidly concentrated middle weight flavors that possess good power on the dusty and mouth coating finish. This is really quite good and worth checking out. 89-91 points
