The 2014 Marsannay had been racked three weeks previously and I tasted the final cuvée, whereby about half the fruit derives from the domaine`s own vines. It has a tightly wound bouquet with black cherry and a vein of sous-bois. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, moderate acidity with a firm, quite voluminous finish that needs just a touch more depth. 84-86 points

The cool nose is both slightly more elegant and complex if otherwise compositionally similar to that of the Bourgogne. The equally cool and restrained middle weight flavors deliver solid length on the understated finish. 87-89 points
