The Adelaide Hills is one of the hotter properties in Australia just now, being cool climate and offering the advantages of altitude. Lobethal Road is at 475 metres below mount Torrens and reaps the benefits of daily temperature fluctuations. The cool climate also helps keep the alcohol under control and this wine shows superb balance. There is a bit of French oak, so this, together with the blackberry and black pepper aromas gives a super and enjoyably refreshing red. (CW 20/09/16)
