The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Marèchale has a bright blackberry and cassis-scented bouquet that seems primal but vivacious. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite spicy on the entry, very well balanced and classic in style. There is good minerality here with fine precision and length. If Mugnier`s top cuvées are beyond your financial means, then this will certainly suffice. 89-91 points
