(from 30+ year old vines). There is enough wood to notice on the relatively high-toned nose of red cherry, raspberry and discreet spice nuances. I like the intensity of the refined middle weight flavors that culminate in a clean and detailed finish that displays a hint of asperity where my predicated range assumes will round out with time in bottle. 89-91 points

Charming it may indeed be, but this Chambolle Premier Cru doesn’t lack backbone or
presence. In fact, it was a little closed in barrel. Fine tannins, subtle redcurrant and raspberry fruit, skilfully integrated oak and taut, underlying acidity. Just getting into its stride. Drink 2019-26. 94 points
