2014 Gundog Estate Smoking Barrel Red

Gundog Estate is based in Canberra, with vineyards there and in Hunter Valley. Karl Marx, the dog on the label was bred to the gun, but can`t stand gunfire, though is an excellent rabbit botherer. The 2014 Gundog Estate Smoking Barrel Red is the first vintage of a crafty blend of Shiraz from Hunter and Canberra vineyards. It shows juicy fruit with proper freshness and a savoury component from the Hunter fruit. It has plummy and bramble fruit and is highly rated by the Australian wine press as well as by me.
