Jean-Marc Quarin
This was a small harvest; scarcely 8 hectolitres per hectare. Sorting was very heavy.
Fruity, ripe, pure, very slight compote, then menthol on the nose. Botrytis graces the palate: it is ethereal, silky and long.
A blend of 65% sémillon, 35% sauvignon. Residual sugar 118 g per liter. Alcohol content : 13.6°. 92 points

The Château Guiraud 2014 has a perfumed bouquet with clear honey, beeswax and honeysuckle aromas that are well defined. The palate is fresh and taut on the entry: good tension and focus here, very harmonious with a gently build in the mouth towards a satisfying marmalade and quince-driven finish. This is a finely crafted Guiraud that will be a class act. 93-95 points

Generally among the star turns in Sauternes, Guiraud has produced another impressive wine in 2014. It’s a highly aromatic, complex sticky with layers of fruit, oak and acidity. Crisp and focused, with classy oak integration and good ageing potential. 94 points
