Jean-Marc Quarin

Flavoursome, fragrant wine with body and refined tannins. Very good finish. A blend of 80 % merlot, 20 % cabernet franc. 90 points

The Château Grand-Mayne 2014 has a perfumed, floral and endearing bouquet with beautifully interwoven new oak. There is a little more sophistication here compared to the previous three vintages. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity on the entry, threaded through ripe red cherries mixed with mint and star anis, finishing with a spicy flourish. This is a very fine Saint Emilion from Jean-Antoine Nony that scored above my expectations. 91-93 points
