The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Carrières, matured in 50% new oak (four barrels from eight) has a well-defined bouquet of blackcurrant, raspberry coulis and cold wet limestone. There is clearly fine mineralité here. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, slightly chalky tannin, vibrant in the mouth with plenty of nascent energy on the shimmering vintage. This has great potential -- one to check out. 91-93 points
