The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny Clos le Village (see my earlier report about the history of this vineyard) is completely destemmed and raised in 50% new oak. It has a stern bouquet behind that reduction, one that is strict and more masculine than I was expecting. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, grainy tannin. There is good weight in the mouth here -- tightly grained Chambolle that needs three or four years in bottle, a pleasant saline note appearing towards the finish. I suspect that this will become spicier as it ages. Very fine. 88-90 points
