The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers has a well defined, precise bouquet that is reserved at first, but opens up nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a prickle of white pepper on the entry. Certainly one can appreciate the structure here, though I discerned a little oak to be absorbed. It comes across as harmonious on the sweet yet linear finish. 90-92 points

(from a .73 ha parcel of 40+ year old vines). Here too there is a hint of herbal tea to the primarily red currant aromas that are cut with plenty of earth and soft floral nuances. There is excellent volume and power to the rich, muscular and vibrant medium weight flavors that possess an abundance of dry extract that imparts an equally seductive mouth feel to the ever-so-mildly rustic and linear finish. This is a classic Nuits that should age well over the medium to longer-term. 91 points

Definitely at the more delicate and approachable end of the Nuits St Georges spectrum, this comes from a cool, stony vineyard towards the top of the côte. Scented and subtle, with a touch of smoky oak, some pepper spice and succulent raspberry sweetness. Drink 2017-25. 94 points
