2014 Chapoutier Chateauneuf-du-Pape Barbe Rac

Like the Croix de Bois, the 2014 Chapoutier Chateauneuf-du-Pape Barbe Rac sees no oak, being vinified in concrete. At this stage the Barbe Rac always shows more simply than the Croix de Bois, though this changes. There is a hint of sweetness on the palate with plenty of fruit, but the wine finishes with length and a good mineral character. (CW 19/05/15)
