Jean-Marc Quarin
In 2014, this wine sticks to its very fragrant style, slender, caressing and elegantly soft on the palate with no harsh tannin or any excess. Fine tannins. A blend of 75% merlot, 22% cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. 90 points

The Château Berliquet 2014 is a blend of 75% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon picked October 1-17, at 30 hectoliters per hectare. It has a fragrant bouquet, one that is well defined, quite floral with wilted violet petals infusing the red and black cherries. This is nicely focused, aromatic and sensual. The palate is soft on the entry with crisp red berry fruit, a fine line of acidity and an endearing sense of harmony. There is just the right amount of reserve and dryness to urge you to take another sip. This is a stylish Berliquet from Nicolas Thienpont and his team. 90-92 points

Well situated close to Château Angélus, this sand and limestone-based red is very mineral and intense, with an iodine-like note, medium weight fruit and tannins, attractive aromas and smoky, toasty oak. A good example of a lighter style Saint Emilion. 91 points
