(raised in a combination of mostly used demi-muids and older barriques). Dark ruby. Smoky, deeply pitched aromas of blackberry, cherry compote, licorice pastille and violet. Fresh and lively on the palate, offering focused dark fruit and violet pastille flavors lifted by a smoky mineral element. Smoothly blends power with energy, with an array of peppery spice and floral qualities lingering on the long, gently tannic finish. 91-92 points

The 2013 Cornas Granit 60 Vieilles Vignes is another terrific red from this estate that shows the vintage’s more fresh, juicy and elegant style nicely. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by notes of violets, juicy berry fruits, crushed rock and pepper. medium-bodied with good but not great concentration, nicely integrated acidity and fine tannin, it can be consumed anytime over the coming 10-12 years. 91 points
