Antonio Galloni
The 2013 Barolo Bricco Ambrogio is laced with the essence of dark wild cherry, tobacco, scorched earth, grilled herbs and dried flowers. Aromatically beguiling, the Bricco Ambrogio is pliant and supple, with lovely up-front fruit and fine persistence. As always, the Bricco Ambrogio is the most forward of Scavino’s single-vineyard Barolos. Even so, the translucent, gracious style of the year is very much in evidence. 92 points
