John Gilman
The 2013 Clos des Chenes is simply superb, jumping from the glass in a complex melange of cherries, red plums, nutskin, complex minerality, woodsmoke, gamebirds and a pungent topnote of roses. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very soil-driven in profile, with a rock solid core, ripe, beautifully-integrated tannins, bright acids and laser-like focus on the very long, primary and classy finish. Great juice in the making. 2025-2065+. 94+ points
