Packed with sweet, ripe fruit and silky tannins, the Roncevie is it`s usual bouncy self. There is depth here, but the real joy is knowing that this is one Burgundy you can enjoy over the next five to ten years without feeling guilty. (CW 04/11/14)

(from vines in Gevrey). There is a touch of herbal tea to the red berry fruit, in particular pomegranate, and soft earth scents. I like both the intensity and the detail of the delicious middle weight flavors that possess enough depth and length to be interesting. This pretty effort should drink well young but also reward 2 to 3 years of cellaring too. 86-88 points

The 2013 Bourgogne Roncevie, which had been racked the previous week and was the only `13 taken from vat, has a light but pure redcurrant and cranberry scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with light, slightly dry tannin but sufficient brambly red fruit that segue into a rustic but charming finish. 83-85 points
