2011 Felton Road Chardonnay Bannockburn

Cool stonefruit and melon flavours are pointed up by glinting alpine acidity and supported by the careful use of new and older oak barrels. Though the winemaker has an eye on your drinking this after a few years it is delicious now. Especially good with creamy cheese, veal a la crème and indeed anything – creamy. Not so good with spicy food, this is a white for cold weather European grub. (CW 09/10/12)
