Freshly cut flowers, mint, sweet red cherries and licorice meld together in the 2010 Barolo Cascina Nuova. Fine and silky through to the finish the 2010 is a great introduction to the vintage. With time in the glass the floral and spice notes become more prominent, adding lift, perfume and finesse. Hints of orange peel, cinnamon and mint add complexity over time. The ripe, sweet tannins give the 2010 gorgeous early accessibility, but it should also age well. The 2010 saw 40 days on the skins followed by years in cask.
