2009 Schiavenza Barolo Prapo

Good medium red. Red cherry, fresh herbs, smoke and flinty minerals on the nose. Saline, savory, subtly rich red fruit flavors show an almost creamy sweetness with air. But this is tightly coiled and energetic on the back half, finishing with inviting sweet red berries and soil tones and terrific mineral reserve. Really saturates the mouth on the rising finish. 93 points
