Bourbon hogshead no. 700425
Glen Ord is the only remaining single malt distillery on the Black Isle (which is really a peninsula, not an island, but there you are). So a Highland whisky, but one that often has the charm of a well-made Lowlander. The first aromas are sweet – key lime pie, cheesecake – but then it becomes minty, fresh and floral, before finishing on the grassy notes that are usually the defining mark of a Lowland whisky. There`s even a touch of sea air rustling through that grass - and the distillery is not far from the shore. Elegance with a light touch. (NT 01/04/21)
