Dark red cherries, spices, mint, licorice and incense emerge from the 2009 Barolo La Serra. Firm yet nicely integrated tannins add support in a Barolo that balances the ripeness of the year with excellent sense of structure. There is an attractive sense of energy here. Still, my preference is to drink the 2009 sooner rather than later. 90 points
