The 2009 de Fieuzal has a taut and rather backward bouquet, but it unfurls with aeration with black olive and gravelly scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. This is so beautifully balanced with a nigh perfect line of acidity and a silky smooth yet persistent finish that is top class. Superb. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting. 93 points
