Down in Puglia, native grape variety Nero di Troia used to be Uva di Troia, till the locals clocked the success of Nero d`Avola further down in Sicily and rebranded. But Nero or Uva di Troia can make some pretty fine wines, especially in the hands of a winemaker as skilled as Paolo Petrilli. The combination of ripe fruit and wood character in the Guerro puts me very much in mind of Brunello. (NT 11/10/16)
