Come and enjoy some crisp, cool wines under the shelter of our extremely effective air-conditioning!

We have a fridge full of cold bottles. We have powerful aircon. And from noon today, we'll have a selection of cool wines for hot weather on free tasting. What's not to like? So if you haven't escaped to the beach or the hills and are still in the City, join us to cool down. We'll be here till 6:30.

We'll be tasting:

2024 Quinta do Soalheiro Primeiras Vinhas Vinho Verde — 'Soalheiro' even means 'sunny'. This Portuguese producer make citrus-and-stonefruit Vinho Verde that is compelling, electric drinking. The Primeiras Vinhas cuvée comes from their oldest vines, the first vineyard they planted in 1974.

2025 Vassaltis Santorini Assyrtiko — the Greek island of Santorini is home to the noble Assyrtiko variety. Its ability to retain acidity and tension in conditions that would make other grape varieties go flabby means it can flourish in hot climates, and over the last 20 years, Assyrtiko has proven itself as a serious grape variety capable of making some astonishing wines. Yannis Valambous is the man behind Vassaltis. He threw over a career as an economist to develop the vineyards left to him by his father, and in the process turned Vassaltis into one of the top Assyrtiko producers.

2025 Domaines Ott* Chateau Romassan Bandol Rosé — Ott* are the Provençal rosé par excellence producer. The thirst-slaking pale pink Romassan comes from their Bandol property. Very serious rosé with minerality and the depth to age.

2023 Vincent Dureuil-Janthial Bourgogne Rouge — you don't need to give up drinking red just because the weather's hot. Light-bodied reds love a bit of a chill, and a fresh Pinot Noir is just the ticket. Vincent Dureuil-Janthial is one of the best producers working in Burgundy’s southern Côte Chalonnaise. /NT
