Clos la Coutale have 100 hectares of vines planted on a southwest facing plot in Cahors. The exposure of this land protects the vines from the colder temperatures throughout the year, which ensures ripe grapes come the time of harvest. Cut through by the meanders of the Lot River, their vineyards are devided up into three seperate parts, each with it`s own terroir. Sixth generation winegrowers Valmy and Philippe Bernede vinify each plot seperately before carefully blending in January. The wines are then oak-aged for many months where they develop expressive complexity and soft, elegant tannins. (DS 04/04/2022)
