N.V. Niepoort 20 Years Old Tawny Port

Same background as the 10 Year Old but the average age is much higher.Light brick with more orange in the colour. The aroma moves away from red fruit to orange here, though it is a journey not a destination. This is gorgeous: ineffable harmony that still has lovely fruit but is just showing that more nutty character. Creamy, viscously smooth but not viscously thick. Utterly complete in itself. More nutty on the finish so that it starts to taste drier. Perfect pitch. 17.5 points
